Foothill Ranch, CA (January 29, 2017) – Fresh off a win, Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy®/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by AP Designs rider Gavin Faith kicked off Round 4 by qualifying on pole with a 24.185 second lap time followed by his third RMATV/MC Head 2 Head Challenge win of the season.

Faith carried that momentum into the first 250AX Class Main Event by securing the holeshot. He would be pressured for the lead until the closing laps and on Lap 13 slipped into second, where he’d remain until the checkered flag.

Gared Steinke, who stepped up to replace the injured Jacob Hayes for the team this weekend, finished an impressive sixth place while teammate Travis Sewell finished 11th.

The start of the second 250AX Class Main Event saw Faith round Turn 1 in fifth, Steinke seventh and Sewell 10th. On Lap 4, Faith made the move into fourth place where he’d stay for the remainder of the race, going 2-4 for second overall on the night. Steinke rode great to put his KX™250F up into the top-5 with a fifth-place finish putting him sixth overall. Sewell went on to finish 13th in the second Main Event to earn 11-13 for 12th overall.

“A lot of positives to take out of tonight,” said Faith. “We started off on the right foot, with a great qualifying time and another Head 2 Head win. I got a great jump in the first main and lead nearly every lap until I made a small mistake with two laps to go and lost the lead. Overall we’re making progress and remain second in points.”

“I had a great time tonight” said Steinke. “I had two great starts and felt strong all night. My goal was to finish in the top five, so a sixth place isn’t a bad start. I can’t thank Team Babbitt’s enough for this opportunity.”

“We’re continuing to improve every weekend,” said Sewell. “We seemed to be a little off our mark all night but I’m feeling healthy and looking forward to next weekend.”
