Corona, Calif. (February 22, 2017) – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Joey Savatgy will tackle the familiar red clay of Georgia as the Monster Energy Supercross series makes its final visit to Atlanta’s Georgia Dome. After training in rural Georgia for most of his amateur career, Savatgy is confident as he looks to obtain his first career back-to-back wins. Teammate Adam Cianciarulo was satisfied with his fifth-place finish in his first race back, but eager to find his place back on the podium.

Savatgy started his championship campaign in stellar fashion, earning his fourth career supercross win in Minneapolis. With much of his amateur training coming on the red Georgia clay and now currently training on the Florida-Georgia line, Savatgy will take advantage of his experience on the soil inside the Georgia Dome.
“It’s going to be really memorable to race in one of the last events inside the Georgia Dome,” said Savatgy. “I have always loved that atmosphere and the fans in Atlanta and I’m really hoping we can bring home another win.”

With one race under his belt, Cianciarulo has started to shake off the rust and is looking to make his first trip to the podium since 2014. Cianciarulo’s last time to the Georgia Dome resulted in a second-place finish, something he would like to repeat or improve upon this weekend.
“I feel like we had a good start to the season,” said Cianciarulo. “When you don’t race inside a stadium for so long, it’s nice to get one race done. We just have a few things to work on and I think we can be where we need to be.”

Cianciarulo and Savatgy will be hanging out at Motofest at the Georgia Dome on Friday, February 24 and signing autographs from 6-7 p.m., hosted by Mountain Motorsports. Additionally, fans can meet Pro Circuit-backed Arenacross riders at the Georgia Dome from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday’s race can be LIVE on Fox Sports 1 starting 7:00 p.m. ET.
