ANAHEIM,
Calif. - Team Suzuki's Nick Wey raced a near flawless second moto at
Steel City (fifth), having blazed back to 11th from near last after
getting caught up in a first moto/first lap log jam on Sunday.
Finishing seventh overall, Wey moved to within nine points
of Ernesto Fonseca for sixth place overall in the 250 class Outdoor National
standings.
"I felt I had one of my better efforts this summer at
Steel City," said Wey. "It's just unfortunate that I was held back by
another rider's mistake in the first moto."
Wey finishes up the season with Suzuki this Sunday at Glen
Helen. On Saturday he will work with Orange County Register reporter Damian
Dattore - acting as Dattore's mechanic and race advisor - when Dattore races in
the NPG's second annual Thor Celebrity MX National @ Glen Helen.
"Damian's a good dude, and I hear he's been riding
pretty well at Glen Helen, so I'm looking forward to hanging out with him and
giving him some pointers on motocross," said Wey. "Should be some
good publicity for Suzuki."
