VRM:

Travis what 2002 Series will you be riding for Plano Honda?

Travis Elliott:

I will be riding the 125 West Coast Supercross Series and the 125 Outdoor Nationals for Plano Honda.

VRM:

Are you going to ride any 250 Supercross Races this year?

Travis Elliott:

I plan on sticking with the 125 for the whole 2002 season, so I can     completely concentrate on doing well in the 125 West Coast Supercross Series and the Outdoor Nationals.

VRM:

What goals have you set for the 2002 Season?

Travis Elliott:

My goal for the first race is to finish in the top 5 and get some good points. I want to get through the first race safe and improve on my finishes as the Series progresses. I hope to get some podium finishes before the season is over and hopefully with a little luck win one of the West Coast Supercross Races. I would like to finish in the top five in the Overall West Coast Series Points Championship.

VRM:

What have you been doing for training to prepare for the opening round of the Supercross Series at Anaheim?

Travis Elliott:

I have been training with Mark Smith who is a personal trainer working with Plano Honda. I have been bicycling a lot to improve my cardio and doing a lot of running now that my knees are feeling good again.  I felt really strong out on the track today in practice. I'm ready for the Main Event tonight.

VRM:

In your qualifier earlier today you had a little run in with Bobby Bonds.  Could you tell me what happened?

Travis Elliott:

I was going into the first corner in about 4th place when I felt someone's   tire hit me in the back. I looked back and before I knew it both of us were on the ground together. I came back to the pits and got my bike fixed. I went out in the Last Chance Qualifier and rode great and won the race.

VRM:

Travis rode well in the 125 Main Event and finished 8th Overall.  Travis is a hungry young up and coming rider who you can expect to see running in the top 5 before the 125 West Coast Series is over.
